With great potential comes great research - or something like that. Sometimes there’s even some YouTube to be had. In this case it’s Personalize Media’s tour of 50+ Virtual Ecosystems including the Layered Virtual Worlds that are beginning to make inroads into the space. And straight from their post about the whole thing I found a handy radar-style chart done by Kzero listing most of the ones I knew (and some I didn’t).
The future remains to be seen. Will VE “consulting” become the next “webmaster”, “podcasting consultant”, and “social media expert”? Will the SEO crowd introduce its refreshingly dull self-referential publications about how to write refreshingly dull self-referential publications and make money with it into the Virtual Ecosystem sector?
Whatever it is, I am sure we’ll hear about it. In the meantime, if you’d excuse me, I have an appointment for a dance party at the Habbo Hotel.

I always ask myself how far a virtual world will go…there is something in the real world we don’t like? it is easyer to talk with a screen, it is a satisfaction to follow the levels of a game instead of the mistery of life?
Wow, there is a lot of experiences to be had out there!
Your own observations are as poignant and disturbing as ever ;-)
